Established in June 1994 as a division of the Walt Disney Company, Celebration, Florida-based Disney Cruise Line was created to offer a cruise experience as fun and exciting as its land-based resorts. The result, the 83,000-ton 2,400-guest Disney Magic, built in 1998, and her sister ship, Disney Wonder, which made her debut the following year, introduced innovative ideas to the cruise industry. While family-oriented in design, these ships are definitely not just for children. As the first owned-and-operated cruise line by the legendary "dream makers" at Disney, the ships were specifically designed with areas and activities that appeal to the unique vacation needs of adults and children. The innovative line designed its ships to provide the ultimate cruise vacation experience for all age groups. Both ships feature separate areas and activities specifically for adults, families, teens, and of course, children, who even have a 15,000-square-foot area dedicated just to them on both ships. When the 83,000-ton, 2,400-passenger, Disney Magic made her debut in July 1998, she introduced many unique ideas to cruising, such as "rotation dining," and places reserved just for adults. Featured Ship: River Ambassador

River Ambassador is a small river ship sailing the Rhine and Main Rivers for Uniworld Cruises. Built in 1993 and refurbished in 2006, the 361 foot River Ambassador hosts 128 guests. The lavishly appointed river view staterooms have hotel-style beds draped in fine linens, a vanity, built-in closets, hair dryer, safe, individual thermostat for air conditioning and heat, direct-dial telephone, flat-screen TV with satellite, bottled water, and bathroom with L'Occitane body products, magnifying mirror, and plush bathrobes. Uniworld ships offer wi-fi service on board. Uniworld ships are staffed by a world-class, award-winning all English-speaking staff. Another popular feature is complimentary use of bicycles and Nordic walking sticks in port. Public areas onboard include the beautiful panoramic main lounge which has a full-service bar, a cozy library and game room, as well as an elegant restaurant. more

The modest-sized islands of Britain, about two thirds the size of California, encompass four vivid nations: England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, each with it's own culture, history, accents, and even language. British Isles Cruises are typically 12 nights or longer and depart from London or Dover. Sailing Northwest and up around all the British Isles and back to London. You'll notice that the rolling, green southern England (home to the mysterious Stonehenge, romantic Cornwall, and whimsical architecture, like the Brighton Pavilion) seem like another country compared with the rocky peaks and thundering streams of the Lake District in northwest England. more
